The Parish Committee oversees the mission, programs, services and fiscal health of the church. They meet on the first  Wednesday of each month during the church year at 6:30 p.m.  Meetings are open meetings.

The Nominating Committee is charged with talking to members about their interest in holding an elected position in the Congregation.  Nominees are put before the Congregation at the Spring Bi-annual meeting held in May for voting into the position.

Church committees are added and dissolve periodically, but the following is a list of common committees of our church.  For information on any of these committees, please contact the committee chair.  New members to committees are always welcome.  The Nominating Committee and the Committee on Ministry have specific procedures for admission listed in our bylaws.  For chairpersons see the Contact page.

The Worship Committee provides support for the worship services by offering programs in the minister’s absence and supporting the Minister’s services as needed. We also work to ensure members, guests and new friends are greeted warmly and made feel welcome.  Greeters welcome everyone and hand out orders of service and ushers accept the offering.  We also manage the sanctuary and for lighting the church.

The Growth and Vitality/Membership Committee provides services to newcomers and supports membership activities.

The Teaching Parish Committee along with the Minister oversees the training of ministerial interns for the duration of the mutual commitment.

The Pledge Commitment Committee works with the Finance Team to assure financial security of church. They organize, plan and facilitate the annual pledge drive.

The Events Committee organizes activities to raise money and interact with the larger Leominster community. The group actively engages in annual events creating at least one new event per year.  The goal of the committee is to open our doors to the larger community encouraging people to explore our diverse congregation and our dynamic faith.

The Spiritual Care Ministry Group works with the Parish Committee and minister to provide care and nurture of members’ and friends’ spiritual life.

The Historical Committee works with the rich and interesting history of First Church which closely intersects with the beginnings of and the history of the city of Leominster. Help is currently needed for collecting, storing and preserving historical documents.

The Building and Grounds Committee focuses on growth and maintenance of the facility and grounds.
